Conditions for Connected Industry are already met
During their tour through the Hannover Messe, the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, and Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of the Netherlands, gathered information about the subject of the future, Connected Industry, and visited the booth of Bosch Rexroth for that purpose.
“Bosch is already on its way to being the lead operator and lead supplier in the sector of integrated production”, confirmed Dr. Werner Struth, Member of the Board of Management, Robert Bosch GmbH, in his conversation with the Chancellor. He referred to the business units of Bosch Automation Technology and Bosch Software Innovations that are particularly active in the subject of Connected Industry.
The Chancellor and the Prime Minister of the Netherlands marveled at the "APAS assistant" during their visit. Bosch’s automated production assistant has been nominated for the 2014 Robotics Award. This award for innovative robot systems is presented by the Hannover Messe, Industrieanzeiger magazine, and the Robotation Academy.
Bosch Rexroth already won the internationally acclaimed technology award HERMES AWARD at the Hannover Messe 2013. The jury decided in favor of a new software technology that builds a bridge between the IT world and automation and thus creates the basic conditions for Connected Industry.
