From the Hammer Mill to High-Tech Solutions Provider: Over 200 Years of Bosch Rexroth

Bosch Rexroth is one of the leading specialists in the field of drive and control technologies. We develop innovative concepts for machine and plant manufacturers all over the world. With its long history and unique industry expertise, the company has become synonymous with tailored solutions. Below is a brief history of Bosch Rexroth, spanning more than 200 years:

Technical progress is having a huge impact on construction equipment. Rexroth is combining its expertise in electrical industrial solutions and mobile applications with the long-time experience that Bosch has built up in the area of electromobility. The result is a broad portfolio of components for the electrification of mobile applications. Modular software and compatible hydraulic pumps complement the new 700V motors, inverters and gear units. As a result, Rexroth offers comprehensive system solutions that open new opportunities to the manufacturers of construction equipment.

The autonomous transport system ActiveShuttle automates and standardizes the internal flow of material and goods without adapting existing factory infrastructure. Designed for 24/7 continuous use. Fully automated feeding-in of transport orders via third-party systems.

The new automation platform ctrlX AUTOMATION surmounts the classic boundaries between machine controls, the IT world and the Internet of Things. Thanks to a Linux real-time operating system, open standards, app programming technology, web-based engineering and a comprehensive IoT connection, ctrlX AUTOMATION reduces the component and engineering effort by 30 to 50%.

Bosch Rexroth is presenting its new brand identity for the first time at the Hannover Messe trade fair. With its new image, Bosch Rexroth is underscoring its successful transformation into a strong provider of solutions for the digital production world.

In the Factory of the Future everything is connected from field level to cloud-based IT systems. Automation solutions fit into this environment only with open standards. They must be easy to (re)configure and encompass predefined app-based functions. At the same time they must enable the highest degree of freedom and flexibility to adapt to the individual needs of businesses.

Bosch Rexroth continues to expand its portfolio of Automatic Production Assistants (APAS). Unique product features enable a simple and safe entry into the world of human-robot collaboration.

With the intelligent hydraulic power unit CytroBox, Bosch Rexroth connects the advantages of hydraulics with low energy consumption and software-based features.

The all-in-one hydraulic power unit: efficient, intelligent, compact and quiet.

Rexroth ActiveAssist - the freely configurable all-in-one system: flexible, easy to configure, process-reliable through step-by-step instructions.

With e-Load-Sensing (e-LS), Bosch Rexroth proudly presents the next generation of hydraulic systems. The electronically controlled system makes the comprehensive management of the tractor and various attachments possible.

As part of the electronification of mobile hydraulics, Bosch Rexroth is developing new, data-based services for all aspects of mobile working machines. The PredictDrivetrain service from Bosch Rexroth detects wear using operating and sensor data and is able to determine the remaining service life.

By using the combined power and intelligence of Bosch Rexroth’s advanced hydraulics technology, Connected Hydraulics aims to set new benchmarks for performance, functionality and longevity.

For use in mobile working machines Rexroth offers with the BODAS DI4 a universally usable operating and display unit. The DI4 is freely programmable, flexibly integrated and enables the diagnosis and parameterization of BODAS controllers.

Network new and existing machines cost efficiently and optimize production processes and product quality: The IoT Gateway makes it easy to connect to Industry 4.0 environments without intervening in the automation logic.

CytroPac - The revolution of hydraulic power units. The new compact power unit integrates with all machine tool concepts in a space-saving manner: everything you need, fully networked

ActiveCockpit: As an interactive communication platform, ActiveCockpit processes and displays production data in real-time. IT applications from production planning, quality data management and sending e-mails are intelligently networked with machine and system software functions.

The fuel-saving hydraulic HSS stop-start system independently switches the diesel motors off and starts them again using the previously saved hydraulic energy.

Intelligent, networkable hydraulics: The ABPAC hydraulic unit independently monitors all operating data and components and reports wear before it leads to a failure.

Operators achieve increased equipment availability through the ODiN service package. Rexroth registers all operating data and evaluates it with specially developed software to reliably detect wear before it causes a system standstill.

The MS2N servo motor offers a significantly increased power density and serves in connection with control units as a sensor and data source in networked production. The data delivers important information for future maintenance and increased productivity.

The future-proof PRC7300 welding solution is incorporated into Industry 4.0 environments and controls future material combinations. The use of modern power electronics reduces energy consumption during welding by up to 30 percent and during idle periods by up to 80 percent.

The Electrohydraulic Hitch Control ensures even and gentle soil cultivation. With EHC-8, Rexroth provides these advantages for the first time in tractors of up to 80 PS sold in fast-developing countries.

Leading operator of industry 4.0: On the networked multi-product line in the Homburg/Saar Bosch Rexroth plant, employees are installing 200 different variants of highly-efficient hydraulic valves in nine intelligent stations.

Control cabinet-free drive technology: With IndraDrive Mi, machine manufacturers reduce the wiring cost by up to 90 percent, as the servo motor, control device and all networked components can be placed directly on the machine - thus saving the space required for a control cabinet.

Open Core Engineering supplements PLC programming with a bridge to the IT automation. The technology interface, which won the HERMES AWARD in 2013, opened up new ways of networking with information technology and Industry 4.0.

The electrohydraulic self-sufficient axis consists of a pump drive, a hydraulic cylinder and its own fluid circuit. A power and communication cable is sufficient as a connection.

Compliance with legal noise emission standards without encapsulation: the SILENCE PLUS external gear pump operates 15 db(A) quieter than comparable pumps.

Variable displacement pumps are very energy efficient, as they only supply energy in line with demand. For the first time, the A1VO axial piston variable displacement pump exploits these advantages for small tractors and auxiliary drives in working machines.

A hydraulic pump combined with a controlled electric motor will only generate as much hydraulic power as is needed for a given task or machine cycle. Sytronix variable-speed pump drives reduce energy consumption by up to 80 percent.
